Why Litres for some Products and Kg for others.

Most substrates (due to varying moisture levels, and variations thereof when packed) are packed in litres, when blending the different substrate materials for your own mix of substrate base it is far easier to work out ratios when everything is in the same format to begin with.

To this, we are not selling certain items by weight, but to help give a guide on the conversion of that particular substrate we will give an approximate mass to litre (this will vary from batch to batch, so there is usually a bit of a margin)

Approx conversion of 1 Kg of Oak Pellets to Litre =  1 Kg is approx 1.4 Litres ( 1 Litre is approx 700 grams)

Production
These natural pellets are produced under great pressure and heat when the pellets are being extruded, this in turn has a natural effect sanitising the oak.

These natural Oak Pellets are sourced from the USA.

Uses

Together with being a very suitable substrate material for our invertebrate species, our pellets are also used both in the Cooking (Pizza Oven Industry) and Mushroom Growing Industry.

How to Prepare

Simply add pre-conditioned water (to remove any harmful compounds) until the pellets have started to crumble, this can be added into or mixed within the beginning of your substrate if you formulate your own blend.

Suitable For

Any detritivore species , but especially isopods and some beetle species. With this in mind it is a must for any bioactive invertebrate setup as part of the substrate.
