A great beginner species, the Armadillidium vulgare “Magic Potion”, originally from the Mediterranean area, they will survive in a very broad range of temperatures 16°C to 26°C (approx), preferring drier conditions than the more humid setups of the Cubaris sp.

As always setups should include a rich isopod suitable substrate of decayed hardwood, with an area for hydration (Sphagnum Moss) and calcium source. They will also enjoy hides from cork flats or egg trays or similar decor.

Once established the colony do become quite prolific breeders, due to this can also be used as live food for others.
